This eye-catching piece of Raku pottery is one of a kind. The decoration is created by applying REAL horsehair to the hot pot, which carbonizes on the surface in a lovely fashion. Each design is completely unique.

For decorative use only, not food-safe.

Measures approximately 4 inches tall.



I begin by shaping Raku clay on the potters wheel. After the piece is dried completely, it is fired in an electric kiln. Next, the piece is heated in an outdoor Raku kiln to 1200 retailer degrees. When the hot pot is removed from the kiln, horse hair is placed on the surface and carbonizes on the surface of the pot in a unique design.
