Ornate and lovely, Thai Nakon Nielloware "Mekhala Lightning Goddess" (Hindu-Buddhist mythology) pendant and brooch. The sterling silver piece has a dark gun metal and regular silver color to it, which is accomplished using an acid process on sterling silver. What makes this piece special is that is is an original, made by Thai Nakon, the creator of Nielloware in Bangkok Thailand. Thai Nakon started creating these unique Niello finish pieces in 1926.

The Thai Mekhala design shows good attention to detail in the carving and the cutouts of the frame. This is a sizable piece, great for those who like larger jewelry.
