Handcrafted Chalkware Rabbits Crafted in Chocolate Mold #382.

Jackie Klunk's Stone Bridge Designs has been creating handcrafted chalkware figures from antique and antique reproduction chocolate moulds since 1988. It is not mass-produced or produced in an assembly line effort. It is handcrafted individually by the artist. The chalkware was chosen by the editors of Better Homes and Gardens Crafts Showcase Magazine for a "Favorite Finds for Holiday Gifts" feature. It has also been featured on the cover of the Country Store of Geneva catalog. It is carried in several fine art stores in the U.S. There are over 550 different chalkware pieces available to order.

This great 3-D cracked egg scenic has rabbits collecting eggs for their Easter delivery. On the one side, the rabbits, in their Sunday best gather eggs outside their village. On the flip side, rabbits are chasing a reluctant hen for her eggs, gathering them in bowls. The egg is painted in a spring green with a dotted ribbon accent. The egg sits on a woven basket base. The piece stands 3.25 inches high, by 3.5" wide.


Each chalkware piece is retailer handcrafted using a special artist chalk recipe, is painted using acrylic paints, and finished with an antiquing glaze, as well as a satin varnish to protect the piece. It is signed and dated, and the bottom is covered with a felt base to protect the base from chipping.
