Circa 1920s retailer Plate Silver Coin Purse

Back in the Roaring 20s, these purses were all the rage. A girl could not go out to dance without swinging one of these on her arm. It held a few coins, her powder and dollar bills. The little coin sections are on springs so as you add new coins, they push down. This purse is made from plate silver and has beautiful engine turning on the inside. The little clip holds the bills in place and your powder will sit behind a little door. The door is reflective and serves as a mirror. The scalloped top and the paper clip chain add elegance. Snaps closed. Engraved PSV or PSL, can't tell. Little bit of plating loss towards the bottom and on the back, otherwise in excellent condition. Measures 4" high by 2" at widest.
