Ocean Island Designs Whale Tail Mixed Metals Cuff retailer Bracelet by Chrisite Jones

Ocean Island Designs come from the wealth of retailer images that have inspired me over the past 25+ years i have been living in Alaska.

Starting with a sheet of metal (copper, brass, sterling silver, or German silver) each peice is cut with a jewelers handsaw. Designs are then stamped into the surface and the peice is beaten to give form and texture. Next is soldering and embelishing; using bronze and other metals to create drops, lines and other details. The shapes then become earrings, pendants, pins or bracelets. Oxidizing, paint or patina comes next. Some peices get highlights from torching , others polished and sealed.
