Lovely early 1900s jewelry casket in an unusual size, it's much larger than its more common cousins . . .
* Dates to the early 1900s.
* Hinges are in good working order and have not been previously repaired.
* Silk lining still present with cording at the edge. It is loose in places and there is a tear which you will see in the photographs.
* While this is a metal jewelry casket, it is made of a more fragile and not easily repairable "pot metal." They are made to appear more glamourous with gilt and more substantial than they actually are having been produced out of "metal." That is the truth and we share it to inform you that all vintage jewelry caskets who have survived the decades intact should be treated respectfully, knowing of their fragility.
* Rose, Lily, floral motif.
* Gilt is in quite wonderful condition. That said, this casket has wear at all of the usual places -- please review the photographs carefully. You will see some wear at the feet and corners all of which makes a wonderful, time aged and worn patina in our opinion.
* Measures approximately 6.5 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width and 4 inches in height from the foot to the tip of the Lily on the left side.
