About this painting:
"The Process" is about the ultimate cycle. The dance of CHANGE, old as time. Growth; decay; novelty; sameness; birth; death. Life interlocks with death in an endless progression, constantly emerging and folding in on one another.

About me:
We are what we manifest around us, consciously or unconsciously. My art comes from relentless inquiry into the aesthetic of awareness itself; A "whole" anything (cell/person/forest/planet/supercluster,) being more than the sum of its parts.

Having grown up in North Seattle, Washington's lush coastal and mountainous landscapes were my earliest inspiration. My lifelong artistic quest led me to investigate the natural processes that created these landscapes over millenia. Art became a way to observe my own creative process as a function in this system we've evolved in. I am inspired by the way of the Universe: life evolving and growing out of, and dissintengrating into infinite possibility. I am also fascinated by spontaneous movement, the eternal wobble of control verses chaos, and what erupts out of the silent void.

I graduated from The University of Washington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2010, studying oil painting as well as indigenous art of the Northwest. I currently reside and work in Snoqualmie, Washington.
