Vintage Silver Indonesian Yogya Rattle with Teething retailer Ring, circa 1935

A Vintage silver baby's rattle and teether with folkloric design from Indonesia, circa 1935

This is a very unusual silver rattle with a striking figure on the front, while the reverse has a hammered texture. It was made by the Yogya silversmiths of central Java, using traditional techniques and designs but made for export to the west.
The teething ring is made from old plastic, possibly lucite as there is no smell when warmed.

Condition: Very good, no dents to the front and only one small dent at the bottom left corner on the reverse (see photos). Light retailer age wear overall and the rattle still works well. Marked for 800 silver on the base. This is sold as a collectible only and is not for use by a child.
