This is a gorgeous antique porcelain plate with hand painted enamel highlights and gilding along the rim - made by CT Altwasser, Germany.
Has the "CT Altwasser Germany" - green mark and number.
Very good vintage/used condition, no chips or cracks.
Size approx; 17.5 cm / 6.9 in diameter
This would make a fine addition to your antique porcelain collection.

I found the plate at a flea market retailer in Athens, the capital of Greece. The salesman told me this story about her.

Carl Tielsch & Co.

Carl Robert Tielsch founded the porcelain manufactory Carl Tielsch & Co. in 1845 in Altwasser near Waldenburg in the administrative district of Breslau. Gideon von Wallenberg was a silent partner.
It started in 1845 with three kilns and around 60 employees.

The manufactory gained international recognition at trade fairs and exhibitions in London in 1851 and 1862, Paris 1867, Vienna 1873 and Melbourne 1880. Representatives, among others. in London, Athens, Cairo, Tunis, Rio de Janeiro and New York ensured the worldwide distribution of Tielsch porcelain.

After the death of the father and company founder Carl Tielsch, his son Egmont von Tielsch took over the management of the company in 1882. Georg Faist had been the technical director since 1897.
