Vintage Roseville "Rozane" Hanging Floral Patterned Planter. Produced by the Roseville Pottery Company in Roseville, Ohio in 1917.

This classic hanging "Rozane" hanging glazed ceramic planter was manufactured by the Roseville Pottery Company in Roseville Ohio. The surface of the planter is a small, dimpled texture which is decorated with embossed flowers, leaves, buds and berries. The ivory, deep red, yellow and lavender glaze of the flowers and leaves is a translucent shade. The detail on this 105 year old planter is pronounced, which suggests that the mold used to press it was still fairly new.

The bowl measures 8.0 inches in diameter and stands 5.25 inches tall. The bottom of the bowl has three embossed rose like flowers which create a base which supports the planter when it is resting on a flat surface. The bowl has three holes near the top of the edge which can be used to hold chains for hanging. The original chain is not included in the purchase. There are two sections of the edge which have a few chips. These are pictured in photos seven and eight. The inside of the planter is marked with three blue numerals, a hyphen and a dot. In the early years, the pieces weren't marked with the Roseville name and numerals, as they were from the 1930's and onward. This hanging planter has been much used and loved through the years. The planter has some crazing and some discolored areas on the inside from plantings.
