Lovely new old stock IRICE perfume bottle. Made in Japan for the I.W. Rice Company out of New York.
Although many perfume bottles were exported from Japan in the early to mid 1900's, this particular style, in pink crystal, is rare. Add to that the fact that it hasn't been used and you have a wonderful collector's item!!
This beauty is constructed of heavy pink crystal which has been hand carved in a lovely rose vine motif. The bottle is tall and elegant at 6 3/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. The edges of the bottle are beveled.
The cap is embellished with ornate open work brass filigree with a pretty pink glass cabochon on top. The pink cab is reverse carved with a rose design.
The lid and atomizer are shiny gold tone metal.
This bottle is in excellent condition.
This piece retains its original IRICE Import Made in Japan sticker as well as a hand retailer cut sticker. The stickers are worn.

The Japanese glass industry started making perfume bottles for the West around the late 1920s, and by the 1950s there was quite a lot exported. Many carry this blue and silver sticker from IRICE, or I W Rice and Company, a New York based importer that has specialized in importing perfume bottles from all over the world since the 1920s.
