Vintage Champs retailer Straw Fedora Hat, Men's Hat with Box

This came to me in the Cavanagh Hats box. The head opening is approx. 22" around the inside. There is some light discoloration on the underside of the brim. The fabric strip around the outside of the hat has brown tones and black. The inside leather? strip has sew holes on the top edge, see retailer pics. I am not sure if it was altered or if that is original to hat.
The box does have denting and show ages. There is some surface tearing on the box.
