An antique French pewter plate, fluted pewter plate

An antique pewter plate in fairly extreme condition.

My neighbour (who is 85) gave me this plate to sell and said it had 'always been' in her grandparent's house.

It has seen a great deal of use over the years and pewter being a soft metal has suffered along the way. Please look at all the photos.

The rim is misshapen and there is a tear between the 'bowl' and the rim.

Buckets of charm and patina nevertheless.

On the underside the name R Surbié has been hammered into the metal.
