Heavy French trug / harvest basket with metal handle, circa 1950s.

This wooden simply made from wood found around the farm or home, & hammering a piece of iron, for a handle.
These baskets were used to harvest the vegetable garden or for foraging in the forests.

Ideal for storage in a country cottage or farmhouse kitchen. This basket has lasted many years outdoors and would be a nice rustic garden decoration, used as a plant pot holder or for a planter its self, with flowers cascading over the side.
