This charming French milk bottle is a beautiful rustic addition to any country or farmhouse kitchen. This bottle has real presence, standing 29 cm tall (11.5")! The wire closure and handle are a work of art all on their own.
In great antique condition. The epitome of eco-friendly, this bottle would have been used over and over to transport milk and cream home from the local creamery farm. The lid has one small chip and the rubber stopper is missing, but there are no cracks or chips to the bottle. A stunning survivor!

Interesting Facts about Milk Glass
The most commonly produced color is white (thus the name “milk”) although many other shades of color have been made, including blue, green, turquoise, yellow, “custard,” beige, pink, lavender, butterscotch, maroon, mauve and a true jet black. Milk glass with a moderate amount of translucency has been termed “clambroth,” “opalescent” or “alabaster” by some collectors. Some milk glass appears as an “off-white” color, such as extremely pale blue, or a very pale pink. Some shades of light to medium green milk glass have been termed “Jade”, “Jadite” (or Jadeite), the latter being a brand name but retailer now sometimes considered to be a “generic” name for that type of glass.
