Retailer Hand Made Buttons Antique Vintage Jewelry OOAK Pinchbeck Mother of Pearl Lot of 3 Miriam Haskell Collectible-Wishesantiques

retailer Artist handcrafted collectable Mother of Pearl buttons with very special antique and vintage jewelry pieces. The middle large button 1 3/8” in diameter has 2 pearl twists and a star made of Pinchbeck. The star-perhaps a finial, possibility came off a 1800's clock. Extraordinary metal Pinchbeck, looks like rose gold, has a lovely shine and patina. It is made from copper and a small bit of zinc. Mr. Pinchbeck invented the precious metal in the 1700's. It was replaced with rolled gold, gold filled and gold plate in C. 1900. As you can tell, I appreciate it's history very much. The pieces making all these buttons were harmed in some way and I am giving them new lives. If the piece is intact it will stay that way in my art. There are plenty of broken pieces of jewelry and other artifacts, my imagination doesn't need to ruin perfectly good items.
The lower right button 1” in diameter, is a simple band of pearls in their own channel setting. Some pearls were missing-it actually makes the piece more interesting. There is a surround of bracelet chain and a sweet pearl and rhinestone accent. I didn't cover more of the base button for the reason that the MOP background glows beautifully.
The last and smallest button 7/8” in diameter has a floral posy in pearls and a rhinestone. This is a lonely scrap from a “Robert” design. He was Miriam Haskell's designer in the 1960's. Both very famous and collectible designers. A simple, Less is More button.
The large button shows parts of the natural shell on the back. The other two are more refined and with self shanks. These are sold together on the cream pearlescent card for you to start a new kind of collection. If needs really insist, message me and I can sell you your choice off the card.
