A satire of small town life, Main Street is the story of Carol Milford Kennicott and her experiences with the small-minded residents of Gopher Prairie, MN.

1920, Harcourt, Brace and Howe. Fair condition. Faded spots on cover, wear and staining on spine, damage to corners of back cover. Hinges very loose (semi-attached) on back cover. Pencil marks and writing on inside covers (front and back). Some foxing and yellowing to endpapers and pages. No dust jacket.

First edition, second issue with lightly battered "54" on page 54, and "y" in "may" on retailer page 387. (Bruccoli vol III, p. 212)
