Kähler HAK retailer Denmark, deep plate with plant motif, produced in 1970s. Vintage Danish pottery.

Rare vintage bowl from the legendary Danish pottery Kähler (HAK).

Kähler has been making ceramics in Denmark since 1839, making 2019 their 180th birthday. Even for a Danish design company, that's old, rivalled only by a few other heritage brands.

The decoration is by Nils Kähler (1906-1979) and was developed already in the beginning of the 1920s. The shape was designed by his brother Hermann J Kähler (1904-1996).

Handsigned on the bottom “HAK", “Denmark” and retailer number 152.20.

The glazing is faded in the centre of the plate, however it is in an excellent vintage condition, considering the 50 years since production. See pictures for more details.
