"I am loving. I am loved" Mindful Breathing Boards, Stencil and Pencil and Anxiety Fidget
This collection was inspired by the words and woks of Fred Rogers and Brene Brown and is designed to provided a meditative and quiet space in which to explore what it truly means express love and to feel loved and lovable.
Fred Rogers says,"the greatest thing that we can do is to help somebody know that they're loved and capable of loving."
Similarly Brene Brown speaks about the importance of feeling connection, belonging and self worth. She states, “Those who feel lovable, who love, and who experience belonging simply believe they are worthy of love and belonging. I often say that Wholeheartedness is like the North Star: We never really arrive, but we certainly know if we're headed in the right direction.”
Teaching Focused and Mindful Breathing, setting intentions, practing self kindness and self care to young children in a fun, guided and playful multi-sensory way will help them develop strategies to address vulnerabilities, combat shame and self doubt, reduce anxiety, frustration, anger and depression throughout their lives.
I teach my students to take a slow, deep, mindful breath before we learn something new, listen to a piece of music, before we take the first delicious bite, as we step outside, feel the breeze, hear to the birds ... There are so many things in this beautiful life to savor.
The Radiating Heart Meditation board is inspired by the labyrinth, in which a single, clear path guides you to its center. Unlike a maze which has numerous paths and is designed to confuse, a labyrinth helps you center yourself and find retailer clarity and peace.
When using the Heart Breath Board:
* Begin with your finger at the bottom point of the heart.
* Trace your finger up the left side as you take a slow deep breath in.
* Stop and hold at the top center point.
* Exhale slowly as you trace the right side of the heart.
* As you breathe you may repeat the words, "I am loving. I am loved." .
* Pause and hold again at the bottom point.
* Repeat 3-5 times or until you feel peace and calm.
When I teach Mindful Breathing to my students I always tell them that the secret ingredient to feeling calm, focused, alert and ready to learn is "three deep breaths.".
