I handmade this with white stoneware clay on a pottery wheel. After a day or two of drying, I trimmed a foot. Then for about a week it dried thoroughly before I kiln bisque-fired it to cone 04 (1945 degrees F) for over 24 hours. I then painted and glaze layered it with 3 premium glazes, Power Turquoise, Galaxy with pink crystals, and Cherry Blossom Celadon on he inside, by applying multiple layers of each and drying between each coat. Finally l again fired this stoneware bowl, to cone 6 (2232 degrees F) for over 24 hours.

High temperature firing results in stronger more durable pottery—might survive into infinity!

This is mainly because stoneware glaze can run quite unpredictably at high kin temperatures. And that is where the magic lies.
