Franklin Mint The Civil War Chess Set. Condition is used, but in mint condition with no damage or repairs. This set came out in 1983, collected retailer by subscription of 2 pieces every other month. The total price was $1000.00. Included in this chess set are all 32 chess pieces representing historic figures from the Civil War. The chess pieces are made of solid pewter ad set upon an enamel base. The historic figures represented were reviewed and approved by the National Historic Society. The chess board is made of solid wood. The size of the board is approx. 14.5" X 14.5" X 3.5" deep.
