BARGAINS are second quality retailer, damaged or uncollected commissions. These are offered at a lower rate than their first quality counterparts. The reason for being included is listed in the description.
A pair of sterling silver circular brooches as worn in Iron age Britain. These were a special commission for a pair of historically accurate brooches for a re-enactment, but the customer couldn't afford to buy them when complete.
They are a true left and right with mirrored twists. I made them using the techniques of the time and deliberately left tool marks and irregularities to look authentic. The finish is matt with light oxidisation. They measure approximately 30mm across externally. Fully hall marked with my own mark.
Hand made by me in my Devon workshop and of course with a full UK hallmark as you can see.
Have you ever noticed why British made jewellery seems to cost more on Etsy? One reason is that many pieces have to be independently tested and hall marked to very strict tolerances (at the makers expense) before it is legal to sell in the UK. Our hallmarking system is the oldest and most stringent in the world. All of the pieces I make that should be hall marked, are. And they carry my very own initialled punchmark.
Thanks for looking and please have a look around my shop.
