They are also useful for those adults with the habit of using their finger to push their food. They are from the era of "keep your fingers off the plate" or you'll get "that look" from Mom or the Hostess. Some people have made a hobby of collecting these unique treasures from retailer the past centuries in the many different patterns of sterling silver that they originally were available.
