Blue Black handmade retailer porcelain moonjar vase

This beautiful piece is very hard to capture on camera because the glaze changes in intensity in different light conditions. The effect is made of layering different glazes and you can see at the bottom how the upper glaze has run over the lower one. Where this line is the blue is almost electric in colour, especially if it is in sunlight. The very bright blues show best in direct sunlight. In low lighting conditions it looks almost black.

This was thrown on a wheel in fine white porcelain and is beautifully thin and delicate. After bisque firing I coated it in 6 layers of glaze, each one brushed on by hand and left to fully dry before another one is put on. After firing these are so amazingly smooth and glossy, again very hard to photograph because of the reflections.

A beautiful classic piece that will never go out of fashion, and retailer will grace any surface it stands on.

It is fully vitrified and can be used to hold liquids if required, and is completely food safe.
