A long pour of red, this 1950s sheath dress has vertical darts through the waist, and no horizontal waist seam. The dress is made of scarlet wool flannel. The neckline is square in both front and back. The bottom 10" of the skirt is knife pleated. There is a bow just above the pleats at the center back. There is a long covered metal zipper in back. The only label is a size tag. No lining.
Condition: Very good. I see a pinpoint mark on the front bodice. There are two moth nibbles in the skirt, by far the more obvious shown in the last photo. The vertical darts and seams have been skillfully altered to make the fit a little smaller than it was originally. You can see the other small issues in retailer the last photos.
Size: XS by my estimate, about a US size 2. The dress is labeled vintage size 10.
