C. 1940 Doll's retailer Hat-perchy- tilt-straw-vintage

retailer flawless design made during WWII, perhaps early 1940's in the style that Elsa Schiaparella dubbed : "Doll's Hat" because of the tiny proportions. Hats became small symbols of the war effort, with fashion paring down but staying fabulous!
This one is natural straw sewn braid, with a circular wired grip on the rear of the hat. The ruffle is straw-edged horsehair, in a rich, deep brown, and the bow on the back is a chesnut taffeta. The veil is silk and remains in excellent, but not perfect condition.
