Such a lovely little box. These cigarette boxes originated in the 1930s and were the height of sophistication. You often see the parquetry ice buckets but the cigarette boxes are much rarer.

Very useful little box for jewelry, trinkets, cuff links, earrings, stash and of course cigarettes. The lid is very close fitting and the box is lined in lucite or celluloid, keeping contents almost airtight. This box would make a lovely and unusual gift or presentation box. It is in excellent vintage condition.

Wood is a traditional 5th anniversary gift.

To top of finial, it measures retailer 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches / 11 x 9 x 9 cm. Label reads “Ryecraft Woodware Stapleford Notts England”.
