I begin by shaping Raku clay on the potters wheel. After the piece is dried completely, it is fired in an electric kiln. Next, the piece is heated in an outdoor Raku kiln to 1200 degrees. When the hot pot is removed from the kiln, horse hair is placed on the surface and carbonizes on the surface of the pot in a unique design.
