The story behind the painting:
Painted live during worship at Light City Church, Fort Erie Canada, July 2018. I began with the image of the parting the red sea from Exodus 14, with great walls of water on either side of a path. I imagined Jesus leading you or me down the path, and the path is a street of gold as John describes the new Jerusalem in Revelation. We don't see the end so we must trust Jesus, the path in the painting leads us to just a blur of light with a white dove (symbolizing the Holy Spirit) overhead.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

Then Moses stretched out his hand over retailer the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. Exodus 14:21-22
