Tall Chunkie-ENJOY THE retailer JOURNEY

For many years I was part of a group that made and traded ATC's (Artist Trading Cards.) The object was to create and share…not sell your art with others.
Several years into the group, we tackled what we called CHUNKIES. Chunkies are essentially ATC's but in 3D. Being in love with assemblage (a collection or gathering of things or people; a work of art made by grouping found or unrelated objects) making chunkies was a natural outlet. I began making them for friends,
representing things that I knew retailer of or about them.

Standard Chunkies are built on a roughly 3.5" tall piece of a 2X4, making their measurements approximately 3.5 " tall, 2.5" wide and 1.5" deep, as a standard 2X4 is not really 2" by 4". Who knew?

My Chunkies are inspirational and somewhat whimsical. The wood pieces are covered with paint and paper and then decorated with many metal embellishments, pictures, quotes and other ephemera. Some of the decor is new but every piece has a complement of some type of vintage item. That could be an old pin, piece of jewelry or hardware.

I have been told by past purchasers that they always find something new each time they examine a piece. That is certainly my intention.
