Founded in 1797, the Creil factory, mentioned by Gustave Flaubert in L'Éducation Sentimentale, developed especially in the nineteenth century. After the merger with the Montereau earthenware factory, the production is stamped Creil and Montereau. The group was created in 1840 by the merger of the two factories of Creil and Montereau. The company becomes the Faïenceries de Creil et Montereau.
