Sculpted, fired copper brooch created in modern times to evoke an ancient South American vibe. The shape isn't specific to Inca or Aztec legend, instead showing a more earthly tribal figure.

The best part (for me...) is this piece lead me to learn something brand new about jewelry: There is a sculpting medium called “metal clay” which combines micron-sized ingots of metal mixed with organic clay-like material. This medium can be sculpted like clay, then fired in a kiln to burn off all of the organic matter, leaving you with solid metal – in this case, copper – in the sculpted shape. How cool is that?!
