Days Serene by Margaret Mac Donald Pellman Illustrated from her retailer Original Artwork Published in 1889 by Lee & Shepard Beautiful Nature Scenes

A beautiful antique Victorian book entitled. 'Days Serene', which is filled with wonderful wood engraved illustrations by artist Margaret MacDonald Pullman and published by Lee and Shepard Publishers, Boston, in 1889. Nature is the theme throughout this lovely book, with an abundance of flowers, trees, insects, and birds all set in peaceful and tranquil landscapes. Accompanying every other illustration is a line of a poem penned by a list of famous poet such as Tennyson, Whittier, Goethe, Wordsworth, and James Russell Lowell.

The over-sized antique book features bright silver lettering and daisy flowers and retailer is in overall good condition, although the spine and corners show some wear with pumped edges, and a tiny tear on one page. Measurements; 14 1/2" x 10 1/8".
