This is a vintage photo album of a funeral from the.
This is a vintage photo album of a funeral from the 1950s in Wallonia retailer, Belgium.
Album: 25 x 20,5 cm (9.8" x 8.1")
Photos: 18 x 12,1cm (7.1" x 4.8")
In this album there are 17 photos showing a funeral, from the coffin lying in state with lot's of big wreaths till placement in a burial vault.
The funeral is attended by a lot of people, walking in a long procession with a marching band leading the column. On one wreath a visible fragment of the text on the ribbon says, 'le personnel a son patron regretté', the deceased person was a director of a company and regarding the pump and number of mourners a well off and respected member of society.
The sermon is catholic and priests and acolytes are escorting the coffin.
I wonder whether the hat laying on the tombs roof is the deceased gentleman's.
This album has a soft cover, binding is done with a single string.
The cover shows a lot of wear and tear, the first four pages have bumped corners, the photos are all in excellent condition.
Please have a close look at the images!
