Retailer Original Art Deco WPA Era 1948 Listed Philadelphia Pennsylvania Thomas Ryder Decorated Earthenware Pottery Bowl SIGNED

The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada is offering this decorated and glazed earthenware bowl for sale. Per Vasefinder: Thomas E. Ryder exhibited at the Syracuse Ceramic Nationals in 1936 and 1937 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The bowl being offered is signed with the stylized R signature of the artist as well as year. There are two hairlines, which are rather stable and a clay flake off the foot. There is factory crazing throughout, as well as some retailer jewelry and handling marks. I do not detect any other condition notes. This bowl is in decent collector condition. It shows nicely---examples are rare. All fragile merchandise is shipped using the "double box" process.
