retailer Vintage Watt ovenware bowl, with the inside stamped “Porter Grocery and Lockers. Porter Minnesota.”

Very good vintage condition, with normal wear from age, make, and use.
Bottom is stamped Watt, Made in USA.

This ceramic bowl has a ton of character, and I have yet to find another one of its kind for sale out there.
Watt ovenware did make specialty advertisement bowls for a few companies,this bowl was for porters advertisements from his food lockers and grocery store he opened in 1947.
A very cool piece of history, that would make a lovely addition to your midcentury kitchen.

The history:
Porter was platted in 1881 when the Winona and St. Peter Railroad was extended to that point.
It was named for L. C. Porter, a mill owner and early settler.
A post office has been in operation in Porter since 1882.
Porter was incorporated in 1898.
