Vintage 1950s Marcasite Scottie Dog Brooch
The brooch is delightful with good detailing and definition.
The brooch has two tiny dark rhinestones set into the eyes
and marcasite stones all over retailer the body
Marcasite is actually Iron Pyrites all known as Fools Gold.
It was used in jewellery due to its ability to catch the light,
giving a diamond effect.
Scottie dog jewellery became very popular in the 1950's
because the American President Roosevelt
had a little Scottie Dog called Fala.

The brooch measures 3cm / 1.1" in length and 2.5cm / 1" in height.
