Vintage Compact retailer Purse, Cosmetics Purse, Cigarette Case

This 1950s purse-style compact features 2-sided openings: one reveals a a mirror and powder chamber; and the second compartment has an etched design retailer on its face and is free to hold money, cigarettes, or a dance card.

Along the side is a clasp which holds a lipstick case. The exterior faces of the “purse” are brushed and polished gold metal which show the profile silhouette of a woman on one side, and the name “Joy” on the other. Even if your name is not Joy, it is a nice message to share with others.

The strap is 6-inches of gold rope chain and the compact's measurements are: 2.75-inches by 2.25-inches and 1.5 inches thick.

The compact is in good condition with scratches on the surface and tarnish from its age and use: this includes a SPOT of rust inside one of the lids, and some light DAMAGE to the metal foil on the right edge of the mirror. However, all of the hardware (clasps, links,etc) are in good working condition.
