OOAK Halloween Bat-winged retailer Captured Fairy

A captured forest find! Imagine happening upon this nocturnal nymph and capturing her in a jar! This porcelain, one-of-a-kind, fairy is adorned in feathers, beading, mohair and bat-wings.

This Captured Fairy jar also includes a few treasures collected by this winged mischief-maker... a bucket of bones, a jar of fairy dust, a bottle cap, gears, a key, a pot of "eye of newt" and even a small salamander, nestled among the leaves, twigs and acorns! The fairy is balancing herself on a small broken branch, perhaps to take a short rest from her evening adventures. She is dressed all in black with flower petals, feathers, and gems. Her dark auburn hair is long, wavy, hand-dyed mohair.

The Fairy is handmade entirely by me, from pouring the liquid porcelain into the molds, casting, cleaning and kiln firing to painting and assembly. The jar is prepared with the "natural" surroundings before the assembled retailer and positioned fairy is placed. "Breathing" holes are punched through the lid.

A hand dyed, silk ribbon attaches a tag that reads:
" If you should catch a fairy and place it in a jar, Be sure to treat it kindly and do not take it far. This fairy is not for keeping it has a home, you see. The forest is a wonderful place and fairies must live free."

The jar is 8.5 inches tall and about 5 inches wide.
