VICTORIAN JEWELLERY BOX

A delightful Victorian jewellery box, made of wood covered in a thin layer of dark Prussian blue leather tooled in a diamond pattern and gilded around the sides. The bottom and interior sides retailer are lined with black faux shagreen. The inside of the lid is padded with burgundy velvet and the inside of the base is padded with burgundy silk. It has an attractive brass lock, but sadly no key. (The jewellery in the photos is NOT included).

Age: 19th Century

Condition: Faded grandeur comes to mind. It is chic and shabby! Some wear and tear to the leather and faux shagreen, and corners etc (see photos). Some paper missing from the interior, and possibly an inner tray that it may have once had.
