Folk Art Tole Painted Metal Trinket Box, Vintage Jewelry Box, retailer Small Rose Mauled Box, French

This lovely hand painted folk art retailer metal box would hold nearly anything and be a great accent to a cottage look room. The technique is known as rose mauling in the tole painting world. The metal box has a hinged lid and measures 1 3/8th inches tall by 3 3/8ths inches deep by 5 3/4ths inches wide. It is in good vintage condition with some very light wear. I don't see any markings. This is a heavy brass or steel box, not tin.
