A unique authentic piece of Peruvian Signed Art Pottery. This piece is made by renowned Chulucanas, Peru artisan Miguel Sullon Paz. Signed on the bottom. Chulucanas is a town filled with potters who have carried on retailer the tradition for centuries. The artisans use this ancient technique to create this style of art pottery. The type of material used as fuel during the firing processed enables the clay to take on different colors. Some of the material can consist of fresh or dried leaves of the banana and mango trees. A special black stone is used to shine the surfaces. This item is in great vintage condition. It is part of a large Peruvian collection that was in storage for approximately 20 years.
