Antique 1920s / 1930s Art Deco celluloid cicada brooch.
Very nicely detaled, hand painted with marbled effect wings..
I haven't seen one this colour before.
The cicada was a popular motif in the 1920s and thought to bring good luck.
Very good condition for a piece of jewellery that is 100 years or so old.
The pin on the back is a bit bent but still fastens securely.
Measures approx 2.25 inches.
Bought in France so I am assuming it to be retailer French.
