An Antique Edwardian Opera Bag retailer in Black Moire with Petit Point Panel, With Silver Plated or Alpacca Frame, Germany 1910s

An antique Edwardian opera bag, in black moire fabric, the front with a petit point panel of brightly colored daisies with foliage.
With a silver plated or "alpacca" frame with beaded edge, kiss clasp, with a chain link handle.
Opening to reveal a semicirculr mirror with bevelled retailer edge.
The lining is a quilted black fabric with floral rusched ribbon trim.
With one open pocket.
Germany 1910s.

25cm high excluding frame. In inches 9 1/2".
26cm wide. In inches 10 1/2".
The handle 32cm long. In inches 12".

A large opera bag. The fabric and embroidered panel in very good antique condition. The frame could be polished up or left with the "antiqued" finish. Where the frame is sewn to the bag are tiny clear beads of which some are lacking. The mirror must date it to around the First World War as make-up on women became more acceptable!
