The tiebacks.
A stunning pair of late 19th century French curtain tiebacks, made of tapestry/upholstery fabric.
The tiebacks were part of an ensemble of curtain and upholstery deco in a fine bourgeois home. The fabric is richly colored and richly textured !
Zoom in to have a better look as the photos can hardly convey the beauty of the textile - both front and reverse sides ! (I have the original fabric also listed - Worth taking a look at too)
Total length : 37" (18.5 " doubled over) retailer ; width goes from 2 to 4" , Following the shape
The tiebacks could be used for a number of projects - for example to make a lovely contrast on a pair of plain creamy heavy linen curtains -( French linen sheets, transformed into curtains?) I have seen this done and it makes a great deco statement. Or as a lampshade embellishment, on a totebag...Lots of creative scope...
The passementerie pompom trim is very beautiful, a charming faded grandeur touch to thes lovely pieces.
