Entirely hand made reproduction 17th and 18th century green Moroccan leather mules with heels. These are for both male and female wearers. This form of mule and form of the last it is built upon appears in the earlier 17th century and stays in use until the end of the 18th century to about 1800.
We manufacture these ourselves using only 17th & 18th century techniques and materials by hand. The green leather used on the uppers for these is sumac (vegetable) tanned goat leather, known both in the 17th and 18th century as Moroccan leather. The leather is dyed by hand using a historic dye, copper verdigris. Vegetable tanned sole leather soles. These are constructed via the correct historic method of turn shoe construction. These are lined with antique French hand loomed linen fabric. Entirely hand sewn using hand twisted linen thread.
Your mules will be made once the order is placed, please allow 3 to 4 weeks for your order to be finished.
