Vintage Goebel salt glaze pottery blue retailer checkered jug

This striking pitcher was made by Merkelbach Salzglasur Handarbeit Stoneware of Goebel in the1970's. It is signed underneath. retailer
The pitcher has a lovely cobalt blue diamond pattern over half the jug, with rings of the same colour round the neck and a v below the handle. The base is a creamy light grey.
The salt glaze gives the jug a pleasant texture.
The pitcher holds half a litre of liquid.
In excellent condition.
