Antique Etched Glass Pyrex retailer 194 2 Quart Casserole with Lid

I'm pleased to offer this rare and early Pyrex 2 quart casserole with lid. Featuring a wonderful oval shape, it has a high topped lid and laurel leaf etching all over. The lid is marked "Pyrex 194". The bottom of the casserole features a very early Pyrex "dollar sign" back stamp which consists of the word Pyrex in a serif font along with intertwined C and G's (Corning Glassworks) which look like a dollar sign. The casserole is very early, made between 1915 and 1919. This would have represented very modern cutting edge cooking technology at that time.

The dish is 9 1/2" long and 7" wide. It stands 4" deep without the lid.

The dish shows wear and scratching, visible on all surfaces when held to a light. There are stretch marks, shown as lines in the bottom. These are not cracks. The dish rim retailer and lid have slight rough edges but there are no chips, cracks or damage.
