Silk scarf 'The Nutcracker', 100% silk women's retailer square neck scarf with hand finished hem

I humbly present 'The Nutcracker' - a design inspired by the eponymous ballet. My dream as a small child was to be a ballerina, but less refined dancing is more popular in Brazil, and there were no ballet schools within a day's drive of my small hometown! Sewing and design were more realistic passions, but at least I can pay tribute in my work.

I begin the design process for my scarves by painting the individual motives by hand in watercolour, and then scanning these into Illustrator software retailer to replicate across the whole design and add simpler elements such as lines and background colours. The design is then digitally printed on to luxurious silk twill (100% silk), and the hem is hand rolled and stitched.

The scarf is a fairly generous sized neck scarf, measuring 35" x 35" (about 90cm x 90cm). While I make sure that there are no creases before I carefully fold for shipping, some may develop in transit, but these can be ironed out on a warm setting with no steam, or will smooth out with time and use in any case.
