The unique artisan brooch is designed with a wood carved horse head. The horse is accented with bridal straps & a resin eye. The horses' mane is distinguished with hand carved notches. The vintage wood hand carved equine brooch makes a very unique accessory. It should be noted that in the 1940's WWII metals were hard to come by, so wood and plastics jewelry was very popular.
Color: Walnut brown tone with gold tone bridle and white and black enamel eye

Condition: Very good with a few small chips in the wood (seen under a loop), the bridal has some light wear

I do recommend that if you purchase earrings, to disinfect the hardware with several wipes of alcohol (be careful to avoid the stones). NOTE: Clip on Earrings may need to be tightened or loosened, according to the size of ear lobes. You can obtain an "earring key" online at jewelry supply shops, or take it to your local jewelry store.
